FMH CORE Community Outreach for Employees
This is one of our newest initiatives for employees who want to volunteer. The committee’s mission is to offer community services that will enhance the physical, mental and social health of the FMH community through coordinated efforts and projects identified by both the organization and associated volunteer programs such as Volunteer Frederick.
To date, CORE projects include:

Providing over 300 backpacks to elementary school children in need

Delivering blankets, bedding and other essential items to residents of Pakistan

Instituting a food collection for community shelters and encouraging volunteer participation
CORE Committee Details
- Committee members are expected to chair one project and volunteer on one more
- Each committee member will serve a one-year commitment and is then subject to renewal
- Projects may range from support of canned food drives for indigent community residents, to continued efforts such as clothing drives, to coordinated projects with Volunteer Frederick
- Committee members will attend department staff meetings to communicate community projects and needs, seek volunteers, and serve as liaisons in soliciting other project ideas from staff

The FMH Auxiliary
You will find many opportunities to use your talents and skills, or learn something new here. That’s because the role of our Auxiliary is always changing in response to the needs of FMH and the community. Over 700 members strong, our Auxiliary runs the off-site Select Seconds Thrift Shop, operates the Gift Shop inside the hospital, and embraces other giving efforts.
