The Journey to Magnet® Recognition
We are proud and excited to be on the journey to Magnet®* status. Achieving Magnet® designation is consistent with our nursing mission to be a leader in providing compassionate, quality care that is focused on the unique needs of our patients and their families.
Magnet® designation is awarded to hospitals
who are committed to nursing excellence as
demonstrated through the five Magnet® components:
Transformational Leadership • Exemplary Professional Practice
• New Knowledge Improvements & Innovations
• Structural Empowerment • and Empirical Outcomes.
Each and every one of our nurses is committed to fostering an environment that promotes respect, positive communication and collaboration among all members of the patient/family/healthcare team. We foster a culture of lifelong learning that integrates evidence-based practice, research and professional development. Our practice reflects our vision of superb quality, superb service, all the time.
Magnet® status has been achieved by less than 10% of U.S. hospitals.
We Began Preparing for the Magnet® Journey
…in 2008. It is a rigorous process that is undertaken by only a few hospitals and includes exhaustive data collection, creating structures for shared governance hospital wide, and much more. It typically takes 5-7 years from the start of the journey until a hospital is prepared to officially apply/submit documents. Our Board of Directors and Senior Leaders believe in our nursing staff and the entire healthcare system, and are proud to support us in this Magnet® journey.
