Cardiac Catheterization

Cardiac Catheterization (also called cardiac cath or coronary angiogram) is a procedure that allows doctors to "see" how well a patient’s heart is functioning. The test involves inserting a long, narrow catheter into a blood vessel in the arm or leg, and guiding it to the heart with the aid of a special X-ray machine. Contrast dye is injected through the catheter so that X-ray movies of heart valves, coronary arteries and heart chambers can be created.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

FMH Cardiac Rehabilitation is an outpatient hospital-based program designed for patients who have experienced a recent cardiac event. Participants use individualized exercise plans to improve cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility. Our professional clinical exercise staff monitor each participant's blood pressure, heart rate and the heart's response to activity. In addition to exercise, educational lectures are offered with topics such as risk factor reduction for heart disease, eating for a healthier heart, the benefits of exercise and stress management.

Our Cardiac Rehab staff of degreed exercise physiologists and nurses work collaboratively with patient physicians and our own support team to respond to any crisis in our facility. On a routine basis, our professional clinical exercise staff monitor blood pressure, heart rate and heart response to activity. They are committed to providing personalized care in a safe, friendly and private setting.
