FMH Regional Cancer Therapy Center

Located across the street from our main hospital, the 26,000 square foot FMH Regional Cancer Therapy Center houses the latest technology in outpatient cancer therapy, offering excellent cancer treatment in a pleasant, compassionate atmosphere. Within the modern facility are hospital-affiliated chemotherapy and radiation therapy programs and facilities for community outreach, patient education and support. The cancer program also provides access to a wide variety of clinical cancer trials.

Radiation Oncology

This setting features a highly skilled team of Registered Radiation Therapists, a Ph.D. Medical Physicist, a Medical Dosimetrist, Registered Nurses, Administrative Staff and Social Workers. All of the health care professionals in the Radiation Oncology Center are Board Certified and licensed in their area of expertise. Services encompass: comprehensive consultation, simulation, treatment plans that bring into play leading-edge technologies and therapies, regular status checks and thorough follow up.

Med/Surg

An advanced 27-bed setting, our Medical/Surgical department specializes in Oncology and Thoracic Surgery. Its team consists of Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants and Unit Secretaries, all led by a Department Manager, Director and Clinical Nurse Specialist. Staff are specially trained in the care of thoracic surgical patients, and order sets are used in this population to standardize our treatment approach. Nurses also participate in a two-day Oncology Core Course and are trained for Chemotherapy Certification and managing Thyroid Ablation in the first year of hire. Our nurses in this unit are encouraged to obtain national certification as OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) or Medical-Surgical certification.
